Three Duke I3T papers are appearing at IEEE ISMAR 2025:
- XR Reality Check: What Commercial Devices Deliver for Spatial Tracking evaluates tracking capabilities of 5 state-of-the-art XR devices (spoiler alert: Apple Vision Pro wins; also, all platforms meet perceptual requirements for VR, but not for AR)
- Eye Tracking–Based Modeling of Situational Awareness in Augmented Reality evaluates situational awareness in a study setup with AR-guided CPR, and demonstrates specific gaze metrics that are linked to reduced situational awareness.
- Detecting Visual Information Manipulation Attacks in Augmented Reality: A Multimodal Semantic Reasoning Approach, which is accepted as an IEEE TVCG paper, demonstrates how modern LMMs can be used to detect visual information manipulation (VIM) attacks in AR, where virtual content changes the meaning of real-world scenes in subtle but impactful ways.
